Winter Months in Middle Level PE

So Far this winter middle level students have done an amazing job continuing to work on different motor skills and movement patterns and apply a variety of strategies and tactics to games. Even though students have been in multiple learning spaces thus far they have done a great job moving and learning this winter. 

6th grade- has been continuing with their cross country skiing unit at SCS. Next week, they will take new skills they learned to the trails at Sleepy Hollow. They have also worked on skill development in the 4 categories of games : target, net/wall, striking and fielding, and invasion. The month will conclude with a mini unit on speed stacking. 

7th/ 8th grade: Have been working on a variety of different skills in the 4 categories of games. They have taken their skill development to the next level with dynamic game play. 7th graders have been working on using heart rate monitors to analyze their heart rates in a variety of different activities. 8th grades are concluding their unit by creating their own games that they will teach to the younger students.
