PLICKERS in PE

Middle School students have been using plickers as an exit card in PE. Each student is assigned a number and they adjust the card by turning to give their answer choice. I have been able to have students self assess, gather feedback, check for understanding, and track engagement levels all in record time! Student data can also be tracked throughout units! Plickers have been a great addition to the classroom!

Personal Choices Projects in PE

Middle school students have been working on transferable skills in PE through a personal choice activity. Students are becoming self directed learners and are taking responsibly for their well being through choice activities. Students are spending 3 weeks exploring activities including: dance, yoga, biking, golf, skateboarding, volleyball, basketball, soccer, field hockey, lacrosse and many more. After week three students choose an activity to explore in greater detail where they will make a skill specific goal to monitor. Students have done a great job taking responsibility for their learning and improving their wellness at the same time!

Back to School in Middle School PE

Middle School PE is going in full swing. Students have started off this trimester with some cooperative games and continue to build a positive and active classroom environment. Students have reviewed the importance of a dynamic warm up and learned exercises for each of the different fitness components. Lastly, this unit students are engaging in  a crowd favorite, invasion games. Students work on transitioning from offense to defense, field placement, and strategic game play! All this with a smile on their faces as we bounce around to a variety of different teaching spaces!
