6th graders hit the trails on Thursday and Friday at Sleepy Hallow as an end to their cross country skiing unit! Although, many students had only been on skis a couple of times they did an amazing job of fearlessly going on the trails to experience something new! Even though the snow was melting fast they still had a blast cruising around in temperatures close to 60 degrees!

Fitness February continued on Friday when SCS hosted the Vernon Tornado Jumprope Team. The team performed for our third, fourth and fifth graders followed by a workshop for Ms. Nile's and Mr. Adam's classes. The team touched on heart health and the benefits of staying drug free while staying active! The connection from student to student was welcomed by our community at Shelburne. We also had a little Mix-It-Up within our 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade levels playing Healthy Heart earlier this week. The Tornadoes complimented SCS on being one of the best audiences this year!

8th Graders Create a Game
This unit 8th graders participated in a games unit, where they played different games from all four categories. At the end of the unit 8th graders took all the skills, strategics and tactics they learned and created their own games. First, students taught them to their classmates, then modified and perfected their projects so they could teach developmentally appropriate games to the younger students! Great work 8th graders!
Finally we got some snow!!
